collection channels while minimizing the cost
of doing so nationwide.

revenue assurance objectives using a reliable
and efficient electronic revenue collection,
tracking and reporting system.
InterSwitch
PAYDirect® is an ePayment solution
that gives an organisation better monitoring
and more control of its revenues. Presently
in Nigeria, the solution is being used by Lagos
State Water Corporation, Power Holding Company
of Nigeria, NITEL, MTEL, Ogun State and Federal
Inland Revenue Service to improve their revenue
collections. The Nigeria National Petroleum
Corporation will be commencing a pilot on the
PAYDirect® revenue collection,
monitoring and remittance solution soon.
The ability
to get an online real-time view of collections
is made possible as a result of the widespread
network of the InterSwitch infrastructure and
its online realtime integration to the banking
application of all its member bank.
According to
a representative of Ghana Telecoms, “Ghana
Telecom's Revenue Collection arrangement is
predominantly manual, and it takes up to 4 days
for GT to receive the funds and then to credit
the customer's account with a payment made.
