InterSwitch and Microsft partners for e-commerce solutions
INTERSWITCH AND MICROSOFT PARTNERS FOR E-COMMERCE SOLUTIONS.

InterSwitch Limited, a transaction switching and processing company that provides interactive commerce solutions and Microsoft, the worldwide leader in software services and Internet technologies for personal and business computing, jointly announced today their strategic alliance to collaborate on the deployment of e-commerce solutions in Nigeria.

The aim of this alliance is to jointly provide the Nigerian public with secure and reliable solutions for interactive commerce.
Under the alliance, InterSwitch would be certified as a Microsoft Partner. The alliance contemplates training on Microsoft technology for InterSwitch’s Certified Application Development Partners (CADPs). CADPs are third party companies that partner with InterSwitch to deliver electronic payment solutions on various delivery channels (ATMs, POS, Internet, Mobile phones etc).

As part of the InterSwitch-Microsoft alliance, Microsoft would provide requisite training and consultancy services on Microsoft applications to InterSwitch and InterSwitch’s Certified Application Development Partners (CADPS) focused on web-based e-commerce. InterSwitch and Microsoft will jointly promote e-commerce solutions through joint marketing in the media.

The benefit of this partnership accrues to everybody, banks, telcos, large and small businesses, public utilities and expands the frontiers of business interactions. InterSwitch has developed a secure infrastructure and built interfaces to the various banking applications and other transaction devices.

 

 


Presently on the InterSwitch network are 16 banks. The banks are: United Bank for Africa, First Bank of Nigeria, Zenith International Bank, Wema Bank, Universal Trust Bank, Standard Trust Bank, Oceanic Bank International, Prudent Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Continental Trust Bank, Afribank, Chartered Bank, Gulf Bank, Platinum Bank, Diamond Bank and First City Monument bank.

According to the spokesman of InterSwitch, “Our business is driven by the singular need to provide a cost-effective value driven infrastructure through which organizations can provide services to their customers and receive payment using multiple channels”. Nigeria is presently undergoing a transformation and the ability to effectively conduct secure, remote, electronic financial transfers will significantly affect business processes and lifestyles.
In order to guarantee best of breed technology enabled business solutions, InterSwitch is partnering with the CADPs to provide additional manpower and support resources, as well as to ensure a cost-effective solution with measurable benefits.
