InterSwitch and Microsft partners for e-commerce solutions
Mr. Mitchell Elegbe
Managing Director/CEO

Mr. Elegbe has been charged with the responsibility of leading a team of dedicated Nigerians as the pioneer management of InterSwitch Limited since December 2002.  The team’s objective is to build a shared infrastructure in Nigeria that will help shareholders reduce the cost of financial transactions.  Before joining InterSwitch, he was the Head, Group Marketing and Business Solutions of TELNET (Nig) Ltd where he conceived the idea of building a nationwide switch in early 2001.  Working with Accenture and Nine (9) leading banks in Nigeria, Mr. Elegbe managed the project from design, proving of the concept, to the eventual setup of the company responsible for managing the shared infrastructure.

Mr. Elegbe studied Electrical / Electronics Engineering at the University of Benin. He has attended several professional and management courses in South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom, and has a British Computer Society Certificate in IT Service Management. He started his career with CSA (Computer Systems Associates, Lagos) as part of a team that implemented software solutions that enable Nigerian Banks connect to the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT).  His career also extended to iTECO Limited (Lagos) as a Network Engineer and Schlumberger Wireline & Testing (Scotland) as a Field Engineer. He joined TELNET in 1997 and was responsible for Business Development, Corporate Sales, Solution Selling, Customer & Supplier Relationship Management, as well as the conceptualization and implementation of new products.

Mr. Elegbe has had significant exposure to switching software and switching companies both in South Africa and Europe over the past five (5) years. He has an in-depth knowledge of the industry, both local and international; technical knowledge and incomparable passion for business.

 

 


Mr. Akeem Lawal
Group Head,
Service Delivery Group

Mr. Lawal is a First Class Electrical / Electronics Engineering graduate of the University of Benin with over seven (7) years cognate experience in the implementation and management of projects in the Financial Services sector, Information and Communications Technology as well as the Oil & Gas industry.  Mr. Lawal was the head of the technical team that deployed the InterSwitch Super Switch infrastructure, and has been working at InterSwitch Limited from inception. 

Before joining InterSwitch, he was a Senior Engineer at TELNET (Nig) Ltd. He also worked at Oildata Services Port Harcourt prior to joining TELNET.  While at TELNET, he was responsible for Identifying new business opportunities, exploiting these opportunities with minimal time-to-market, and expanding the company’s market share in these new businesses for greater profitability and competitiveness.

Mr. Lawal has attended several local and International seminars and training courses in Project Management, Electronic Funds Transfer / Transaction Processing and Electronic Point-Of-Sale Info commerce.  He is an Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), as well as a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

Mr. Charles Ifedi
Head,
Business Solutions Group

Mr. Ifedi is a First Class Computer Science graduate of University of Ilorin.  He has over five (5) years experience in the design, development and implementation of innovative technology solutions for business issues, mainly in the financial services sector.  Mr. Ifedi was a member of the project team that developed the business plan for InterSwitch Limited, and has been working at InterSwitch Limited from inception.

Prior to joining InterSwitch, he worked in world class consulting and professional services firms including Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He was involved in product development, software design, development & testing, MIS reports design & testing, banking application implementation, software & process review, business process re-engineering as well as strategy for payment and settlement systems.

Mr. Ifedi has attended several local and International seminars and training courses in Consulting, Product Development, and Electronic Funds Transfer / Transaction Processing.

Ms. Adora Ikwuemesi
Head,
Human Capital Group

Ms. Adora heads the Human Capital Group of the firm, with key focus on aligning human capital with organizational strategy.  She has a Master's degree in Management Information Systems from Cranfield University, UK, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Reading, UK and a Diploma in Occupational Psychology from Middlesex University, also in the UK.

Her professional experience spans several years in the IT and Telecoms industry working for Nokia UK as a User Interface Designer, where she designed software solutions to match the abilities, expectations and behavior of their users. Working extensively on a number of projects, she was responsible for the specification and design of Multimedia and Java related functionality of Nokia mobile phones. 

Her consulting experience extends several years at  Phillips Consulting where she  led Process Improvement teams as part of several restructuring projects. Other areas or focus included, strategy,  change management, human capital development and team building.

She continuously improves herself by extensive research  in diverse fields.   She enjoys, creative writing, reading, computers, the saxophone and counseling.

Adora has written several published articles for a number of National Newspapers.

Nkechi Adewunmi
Head,
Finance Management Group

Nkechi Adewunmi is a Chartered Accountant with experience in different industries within the economy.

In British American Tobacco, she drove the process of ensuring that company’s objectives are achieved by aligning structure, processes, systems and procedures with company procedures for West African sub-region. She also managed brand expenditure and ensured that margins amongst brands were optimised.

She was responsible for deploying D’Controller and Sage accounting packages in her previous places of employment which helped to achieve optimal efficiency within the finance function.

Nkechi who is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) loves swimming and reading. The most daring thing she has ever done is bungee jumping.
